Chiesa di Santa Sabina sull'Aventino

In questa chiesa vengono celebrati tantissimi matrimoni, grazie alla sua bellezza e posizione ( accanto c'è il giardino degli aranci da cui si gode di un panorama mozzafiato).
Quello che mi ha colpito di più è l'effetto della luce sulle pareti nude e grigie della navata principale. Sembra proprio un ricamo di forme delicate vicine al tema dei fiori e delle stelle.

In this church are celebrated many weddings, thanks to its beauty and location (next to it there is the orange garden where you can enjoy a breathtaking view). 
What struck me the most is the effect of light on the bare and gray walls of the nave. This seems like an embroidery of delicate shapes close to the theme of flowers and stars.

 

In contrasto con questa sobrietà spicca inaspettatamente la decorazione barocca della cappella laterale. Lo sguardo del credente viene completamente rapito da questo trionfo di angeli e santi.

 La luce passa dal chiaroscuro di prima ad un colore più tenue, morbido e caldo che accarezza anche le piante vicine al tabernacolo..

Abbazia delle Tre Fontane

Quest'Abbazia si trova in un luogo raccolto accanto la via Laurentina a Roma un pò in disparte rispetto al caos del traffico..
In fondo ad una via alberata, dentro una nicchia di laterizi, c'è la statua di San Paolo che accoglie chi vi entra invitando al silenzio: "Ausculta o Fili obedientia sine mora ora et labora
Huc properat caelos optat qui cernere apertos nec removet votum semita dura pium
Semper difficili queruntur summa labore arctam semper habet vita beata viam"

This abbey is located in a place beside the collected via Laurentina in Rome a little aloof from the chaos.. 
In the bottom of a tree-lined street, in a niche of bricks, there is a statue of Saint Paul that welcomes those who enter inviting to silence:

Un'arco con un lampioncino fa da cornice ad un luogo protetto e raccolto...Dà l'idea di entrare in un luogo chiuso invece ci si trova all'ingresso del sagrato in comune tra le due chiese. Esterno ed interno si confondono e danno la centralità solamente alla statua di Maria che emerge dallo sfondo degli alberi di palma..

Chiesa Santa Maria del Carmelo

Questa è una chiesa carmelitana che si trova a Mostacciano a sud di Roma.
L'interno è particolarmente suggestivo, soprattutto nelle ore in cui c'è più luce perchè la copertura, le pareti e i pilastri sembrano non toccare gli uni con gli altri..


This is a Carmelite church that is located in Mostacciano south of Rome. 
The interior is breathtaking, especially at times when there is more light because the roof, the walls and the pillars do not seem to touch with each other ..

L'impressione che si ha è quella di stare all'interno di una grande tenda, effetto realizzato grazie all'andamento ondulatorio della copertura che da alta che è all'ingresso si abbassa centralmente per poi rialzarsi in corrispondenza dell'altare..Lo sguardo, quindi, viene convogliato e accompagnato da queste superfici curve che suggeriscono un movimento che si ferma davanti alla pala strutturale ospitante il crocifisso e il tabernacolo.

Sulla vetrata in fondo al presbiterio è disegnata l'immagine della Vergine con Gesù in braccio. La figura suggerisce leggerezza in contrasto con la forza espressiva del cemento che caratterizza maggiormente la chiesa. Sul manto di Maria è raffigurata una stella, simbolo della verginità, elemento presente sin dai quadri più antichi che raffigurano la Madonna del Carmelo.

The stained glass window in the bottom of the presbytery is designed image of the Virgin with Jesus in her arms. In aperta campagna, sulla via Ardeatina, si estende questo prezioso Santuario,un vero angolo di pace rispetto al caos della città e punto di riferimento per i romani..Questa tranquillità è introdotta dalla presenza dell'acqua all'ingresso insieme alla statua di Cristo Creatore del tempo e dello spazio:

Per arrivare all'antico Santuario bisogna percorrere una salita, e alla fine si trova sulla sommità questo piccola chiesa che ha sopra il timpano della facciata la statua della Madonna con la corona di dodici stelle sopra il capo e lo sguardo rivolto verso il cielo..

L'interno della chiesa rapisce il tuo sguardo..dietro al tabernacolo, c'è l'immagine di Maria con Gesù in braccio circondata da sculture di nuvole grigie e raggi e angeli dorati.. Un angelo guarda verso chi entra lasciando il compito all'altro di indicare l'immagine sacra.. la composizione ricorda molto l'interno della Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli dove anche qui, un angelo accoglie il credente guardandolo negli occhi mentre l'altro suggerisce alle persone di guardare in direzione dell'altare..

 Il nuovo Santuario,invece, si estende nella parte più bassa e presenta un'architettura moderna, minimale, dove l'attenzione si concentra nei colori vivaci e penetranti delle vetrate che ricordano le sfumature del cielo..

 Anche la croce che si trova sopra la chiesa e che ha come sfondo le nuvole si assottiglia fino a rimanere nelle sua essenzialità, lasciando il posto alla preghiera contemplativa..

Basilica di S. Prassede

Camminando per via Merulana a Roma sono rimasta attratta dall'ingresso di questa bellissima chiesa di epoca medievale che sembra rimanere timidamente nascosta di fronte alla magnificenza della Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.
La scalinata che attraversa l'arco si perde nella luce dello sfondo ed è sormontata da un'essenziale croce in legno che si estende per tutta l'altezza del varco.

 
While I was walking in via Merulana in Rome I was fascinated by the entrance of this beautiful medieval church that seems to remain hidden in front of the magnificent of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
The stairway that crosses the arch is lost in the light of the background and is surmounted by an essential wooden cross that extends to the full height of the opening.
 

Ma la bellezza della luce colpisce soprattutto all'interno attraverso le vetrate che completano con i loro disegni ciò che l'architettura può solo suggerire..

Una delle parti più significative sulla simbologia della luce è presente nel sacello di San Zenone (guardando l'altare è sulla navata di destra). 
Nella parete principale della cappella viene rappresentata la Madonna a sinistra, San Giovanni Battista sulla destra e al centro una finestra di luce...

Questa luce rappresenta Cristo "Io sono la luce del mondo" (Vangelo di Giovanni 8:12-36). Il suo riflesso radente illumina la meravigliosa volta fino ad arrivare al volto di Cristo "Pantocrator", creatore di tutte le cose.
